When I do 1961 re-creates, I get put off by certain things. One thing, the injury rolls can be pretty jarring, even if that player was active in that time frame, I still find it astonishing that in the 2nd game of a re-create, I can be without Roberto Clemente for 10/15 games. Or a team such as the 1961 Giants can bat .433 over their 1st 3 games. I want to re-create as close as possible an actual season, but a curve here and there has me starting from scratch again.
It's nothing personal, but I am back in Washington again, Wynn vs. Donovan, and by "nothing personal," I mean it. Donovan, who used to pitch for the Sox, stifled the Sox on 4 hits, and better yet, homered and doubled(including the eventual winning run) in a 4-1 win over CWS. The one thing I wanted to prove was how do the Sox do against a pitcher with a +6 hold like Donovan? 3 stolen bases was the answer, but in the end it was "nothing personal."
