A "Rosey" finish...

VIN SCULLY: "When they fly to San Francisco after this game, they better give Amaro a seat next to the pilot. 11 successive plate appearances before finally making an out. If Gene Mauch knew any better, he'd move him higher in the order. Amaro takes his place at short as the Dodgers come to bat here in the bottom of the 9th where they'll send Neal, Roseboro and a pinch-hitter, probably Fairly to face Art Mahaffey. (Charlie)Neal is 0 for 3 with 2 strikeouts, 2 of 8 that Mahaffey has thrown tonight. The kick, the pitch to Neal is swung on and hit to left, a base hit. The tying run is on, the winning run is at the plate. Rosey is 0 for 2 with a walk. Infield may or may not be expecting a bunt, Roseboro may have thoughts of ending this here. The wind and the pitch to Rosey… Swung on and hit deep to right field, Callison looks up, SHE IS GONE!
A welcoming committee greets Neal, then Rosey after the Dodger catcher hit a Mahaffey curve deep into the right field bleachers giving the Dodgers a dramatic 3-2 win over a shell-shocked Art Mahaffey and the Phillies. It is Roseboro's second of the year, he homered on opening night off of Robin Roberts in their 4-2 victory. The Dodgers take the rubber game and now await the World Champs tomorrow night. In the 9th for the Dodgers, 2 runs, 2 hits, no errors, nobody left. The final score, the Dodgers 3, the Phillies 2.
